How We Operate

NEMES is structured around three core functions that work together:

  • A walk-in supply store with in-stock inventory and counter support
  • A service division focused on troubleshooting, repair, and emergency response
  • Equipment sales guided by real-world application knowledge

These are not separate departments operating in isolation. They support each other, allowing us to handle everything from immediate part needs to long-term system solutions.

Founded in 1979 by Paul Nosworthy, New England Marine Engineering & Supply, Inc. (NEMES) was established from a deep-rooted commitment to the maritime community of Southeastern Massachusetts. Identifying a critical need for specialized marine refrigeration and electrical support, Mr. Nosworthy applied his extensive engineering background to build a trusted foundation for the region’s marine process facilities and fleets.

From these historic roots, NEMES has evolved to become a trusted provider of sales, service, and supply solutions across refrigeration, electrical systems, process pumping, controls, and offshore & marine lighting for the Industrial, Commercial, and Marine sectors.

Our diverse customer base includes seafood processors, meat & poultry processing plants, bakeries, supermarkets, warehouses, ice production facilities, industrial & commercial marine fishing fleets, tug & work boats, cargo & shipping vessels, offshore energy support vessels, government maritime agencies, and vehicle & passenger transport vessels, as well as any industry requiring reliable, high-performance solutions.
